  • Planting: Set young trees out in late winter or early spring in cold regions, or in the cool season in mild climates. Keep 5–8 m between standard trees so light and air can move through the canopy.3

Mulberries have trailed behind people for thousands of years, weaving into trade, myth, and song. In ancient China, white mulberry fueled the silk industry; trees and silkworms were guarded resources that helped power the Silk Road economy.18
